Two weeks and counting

I'm now just two weeks away from heading to Beijing and that fact still seems surreal to me! While I'm not sure yet exactly what to expect as far as my responsibilities, housing, and the overall environment of Beijing are concerned, I've been gathering as much information as I can to prepare myself for the adventure.

One thing I am sure of is that I will live in the dorms of the Communication University of China (see picture) and I will wear a snazzy volunteer uniform while I work (also see picture). Check out these two sites for more information:

Me and my blog

Today I am beginning a new stage in my life: blogging. After a brief stint using Xanga in the 9th grade, I thought I would never again create a blog. Who needs/wants to know about every little thing that happens in my life? Well, as it would happen, I'm doing something pretty cool that just might be worth reading entry upon entry about.

July 5 I will fly to Beijing to spend two months immersed in the culture and lifestyle of the Chinese. The group certainly warrants the attention. China's economic and social growth has drawn increased international attention in the last few years. Many people seem to feel just as nervous as excited about the prospect of an even more powerful China. But you already know all this.

Did I mention I will be interning at the Olympics?

Drop by over the next two months if you care to read more about that. And please, leave me a comment now and then :)

Cheers!
